We've got a new team member on board! Peter Magpantay will take care of the Financials & Operations area at Txture from now on.
We are happy to introduce Peter to you today. To get a few personal insights we have asked him for a short interview.
Here's what he told us about himself:
A superhero - I have been a Marvel universe fan since the age of 5.
I am an avid consumer of books, blogs, and podcasts on self-improvement and tech. Whenever the weather permits I also love to spend time in the lakes and mountains. Thank goodness for being based in southern Germany. And finally, I am obsessed with good authentic food from all over the world and just having a good time with fun and diverse groups of people!
Eggs, cheese, and almond milk! Mostly empty though as I love to eat out.
I am not ready to reveal this yet. What I can tell you now is that I would like to own an All-you-can-eat buffet restaurant in the Philippines!
The von Trapp family singers. If you are not aware of who these people are, please watch the Sound of Music. It is a classic!
I am a huge fan of tech that enables and democratizes in a meaningful way. I believe that cloud computing is an essential foundation and a driving force of digital transformation. The democratization of IT through the cloud (i.e. the provision of universal access to computing resources and storage on a pay-as-you-go basis) allows existing industries to transform and new ones to emerge. Think of cloud-based media streaming or ride-sharing services. Furthermore, regardless of size, the cloud has removed the limits for companies to jump into AI and IoT applications. I think that is very exciting. So why Txture? Txture is in the middle of all these game-changing possibilities! I am part of a fun team that helps cloud awesomeness happen for organizations in the most efficient and effective manner!
I am the Finance and Operations Manager. No, it is not just about bookkeeping and cash reconciliations. Those are merely pieces of what is known as accounting. A great finance function is a strategic function. The absence of an effective finance function is like flying an airplane without windows and navigation equipment. Finance accurately and efficiently answers questions such as 1, Where are we? and 2, How are we going to get where we want to go?
Let me know if you would like to learn more about my view and experience within finance.
