FaaS cloud functions

Txture constantly grows its ability to assess private and multi-cloud environments, to give recommendations on what and how to improve. Cloud native services have been a focus in Txture early on, e.g. in offering application target architecture models for application platforms like Google Cloud's Cloud Run (or App Engine) or AWS' Beanstalk, Kubernetes based deployments and others.

The new release of Txture features full support of Function-as-a-Service (FaaS, Serverless Functions) products in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud (see Figure 1).

Serverless functions are considered for both resource visibility and transformation cycles. This means that our automated data collection for cloud estates imports all Serverless Functions, with all its:

  • meta data (e.g. tags/labels),
  • product specifications (compute sizing) and
  • daily/monthly utilization data (requests/invocations, average runtime).

Serverless Functions managed by Txture can be put through Txture's standard transformation planning cycle (see Figure 2), proposing right sized cloud product instances or alternatives with same or different cloud service providers.

Get visibility into your Serverless Functions usage and many other cloud services and even on-premises infrastructure and components with the Txture platform. Benefit from in-depth technical application portfolio management, continuously highlighting opportunities for optimization and modernization.

Overall, Business Applications can streamline your cloud assessment and cloud migration planning process by gaining more accuracy, reducing manual effort, and providing efficient reporting.
