So, meet Lukas, one of our partner managers and have a look at our open positions on our Career Page.
So, my name is Lukas Linnarsson and I live in Innsbruck, Austria where Txture has its HQ. I love to be outdoors, and I have a passion for cooking; those two things have always been with me. I am originally from Sweden, and I moved to Innsbruck for Business studies and to ski, and then I got stuck. I came in touch with Txture at a TEDx event where I met the CEO, Matthias, and I found the company and the product very interesting. I always loved to do different things, and that is something you get to do in a smaller and growing company. Once I had met the team, I felt it was a good fit for me as a person, and I didn’t hesitate much when I got an offer to work as a partner manager.
Tech has always been with me since I was young. It started for real in my teenage years with playing computer games and having LAN parties with my friends. That is when I started to build my own computers and convert music from CD to MP3, as music is another passion of mine. One can say we had our own little cloud on those LANs. So although tech was always a part of my life, I never had the determination to make it a career. That actually happened more as a coincidence. I like the combination of tech and people, and that is what I like about my role as a partner manager, that I get to work with both.
I like to use the gym analogy. If an on-prem IT environment is a home gym where you have maybe some dumbbells, a pilates ball, and some resistance bands, but you feel that you want to do more with your training. Then it might be time to look at a gym membership where you pay only monthly, but all the equipment you can think of is there. Because buying all those machines you need would be way too expensive and take up too much space. The gym would then be the public cloud, where different providers offer different services and prices. Cloud Transformation is then the process of analyzing your needs and finding a fitting gym to exchange your home gym with to get more out of your goals (a fitting cloud). I like this analogy because most people can relate to it.
I like to start my day pretty early. I get to the office or start from home, and I read and answer my emails and do other smaller admin things. At 10, we have a daily check-in meeting with the partner team. I then go on to work on my to-do list for the week, which I always create either on Monday or the Friday before. But generally, my days are very different, and it is hard to say exactly what a day is like since we do many different things. It often contains client/partner meetings, internal meetings, creating material, communicating with my teammates, and much more. But sometimes I do special things, such as recording a video or writing a text like this, and that is what I like about the job. It doesn't get boring.
It is definitely the conversations I have with partners or potential clients. I get very excited about personal meetings and trying to build a relationship that lasts.
